Sources close to production claim The White Lotus Season 3 will be filmed in Thailand, Variety reports.

Mike White, creator of the hit HBO show, is reportedly scoping out filming locations in Thailand before production begins, sources say.

The White Lotus previously shot at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii and the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace in Sicily. Though we now know Season 3 will take place in Thailand, there are four Four Seasons locations for White to choose from — the luxury resort chain has hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle, per Variety.

White previously said he was interested in bringing the show to Asia, where they could explore “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”

“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus,” he said in a post-show special after the Season 2 finale.

Johnny Knoxville seemingly spoiled the Season 3 filming location in an interview in February when he was asked if he would join the White Lotus cast if given the chance.

“Are you kidding? Mike White is a very close friend of mine. He and I had been in Tokyo together,” Knoxville said. “I think that’s where the next … oh, I’m not giving anything away.”

The Season 3 cast has not been confirmed yet, but let’s keep our fingers crosses! Maybe The White Lotus Season 3 will give Knoxville his own Jennifer Coolidge moment.

The White Lotus Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on HBO Max.
