Two off-duty NYPD police officers remove service firearms from airplane luggage I swiped. For police sources.
Two police officers from District 44 were flying from JFK Airport to Atlanta on JetBlue Airlines on Thursday, sources said.
The pair was tightly packed with firearms and two 9mm pistols, in accordance with US Customs and TSA regulations. According to sources, they boarded an airplane scheduled to depart around 2 pm.
The flight was delayed and finally arrived in Atlanta at 8 pm, sources said.
When police officers went to pick up their luggage from the caddy, they inspected the bag and found that the gun was gone, according to sources.
Atlanta police have been notified of the incident and are currently investigating.
