Whoopi Goldberg Gives Drew Barrymore Dating Advice on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’: “Hit and Runs Are Great”

Whoopi Goldberg offered Drew Barrymore some sage dating advice during this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. Goldberg, who is very much single, said she’s not ready to let someone into her life “for good.” Still, that doesn’t mean she’s not dating around, and the longtime View co-host wasn’t afraid to share a little insight into her “hit and run” style on today’s show.

When Barrymore revealed she is back in the dating game (finally!), but admitted that she loves being alone “too much” (understandable), Goldberg offered her own explanation as to why the 50 First Dates actress may be content without a partner.

“Perhaps, if you are not knitting it together with other stuff, you can be alone and then not alone,” she said. “And then alone and then not alone.”

Goldberg continued, “Maybe, a hit and run is a better way to go. For now, until you say to yourself, ‘Now, I really want someone to just be part of this.’ Right now, that might not be what you’re looking for, which is probably why you’re doing fine.”

Barrymore then asked if the Sister Act star still “hits and runs,” to which she replied, “All the time,” adding that such dating experiences are “great,” which earned her a big hug from Barrymore. But Goldberg, who is no stranger to her words becoming headlines (we would know), assured the audience that we will never know who is on the other end of that “hit and run.”

“People are gonna try to figure it out. You can’t. You can’t figure it out,” she said. “Because I made it a point to make sure that that was mine. I didn’t want to share it. I don’t want it to be part of other peoples’ humor stories about me.”

Until someone cracks a clue, sounds like all that “hit and run” action will remain between Goldberg and her mystery man.
