The penultimate episode of The White Lotus Season 2 teased quite a few reasons why some of the hotel’s guests might wind up dead. We’ve known since the first few minutes of the HBO hit’s new season that multiple guests will die. But who and how? Well, after The White Lotus Season 2 Episode 6 “Abductions,” we’re worried the Di Grasso boys will lay down their lives for escort Lucia (Simona Tabasco). Lucia started off the season working for the philandering Dominic (Michael Imperioli), but has since fallen for the sweet Albie (Adam DiMarco). While both men stood down from Lucia’s pimp last night, patriarch Bert (F. Murray Abraham) was irate that they let her go. It seems that this family abroad might find themselves in trouble with a local criminal before they get a chance to check out.
When we first met Lucia in The White Lotus, she had been hired by Dominic over the internet. The two spent the night together and then another (with Lucia’s pal in tow). However, Dominic soon felt so much remorse over his philandering actions that he ended his arrangement with Lucia. What he didn’t cancel was her and Mia’s access to the resort. While lounging by the pool, Lucia met Dom’s son Albie. The two hit it off and soon Lucia and Albie were embarking on a romance of their own.
Since Albie still doesn’t know that his father was one of Lucia’s clients, he boldly invites his gal pal along for the family’s trip to their ancestral home. Lucia is meant to act as their translator. This plan soon goes awry when Lucia notices that her pimp Alessio has followed her to the remote town. A tense car chase ensues. Lucia finally asks Dom to stop the car so she can confront Alessio. Against the guys’ wishes, Lucia goes off with Alessio. Later, she visits Albie and tells him that she owes a huge amount of money to Alessio. Without that money, he has power over her and she’ll never be free.
Given how Albie is attracted to “wounded birds,” it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that he’s probably going to try to help Lucia. It’s also clear that to do so, he’ll need the help of his father or grandfather. After all, his dad is the one with the money and both Bert and Dom are protective of the sensitive young man. It wouldn’t be a stretch to see the situation with Alessio erupt in violence in the last episode.
That said, since Alessio shows up all the way back in The White Lotus Season 2 Episode 1 as a friend to Lucia, some fans theorize that Lucia is actually conning Albie and his family out of money. It’s possible Alessio and Lucia have hatched a plan to trick sweet, innocent Albie into thinking he has to come up with a massive amount of money to save his new fling. If so, Lucia has been really convincing! I really think she likes Albie, guys. One woman’s opinion!
We’ll have to wait until The White Lotus Season 2 finale premieres on Sunday December 11 on HBO to find out if Lucia will indeed be the Di Grassos’ downfall…
