A 20-year-old woman was shot in the head by a man in a black hooded sweatshirt.

An unidentified woman was pushing a stroller on Lexington Avenue and East 95 Street around 8:25 pm. ABC News New York StationWABCreported when a man in a black hooded sweatshirt came from behind her and shot her head.
Police said a stranger approached her and fired a shot at her close range. Shortly afterwards, the suspect fled on foot and moved east along East 95th Street, according to the NYPD. He was finally seen wearing an all-black hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants.
NYPD responded to the scene and encountered an unconscious and unresponsive female victim with a gunshot wound on her head.
The woman was taken to Metropolitan Hospital and was sentenced to death at 9:20 pm, police said.
Police said the baby was unharmed, WABC reported.
Police said police had not been arrested and an investigation was underway.
