However, the Ministry is encouraging the public to submit digitally to avoid crowds and queues.

“We have learnt some lessons since we opened applications in 2021 and had nearly 8,000 applicants. When we used the manual approach, it took us almost two years to just interview applicants, process and data applications, and at the same time mobilize workers.”

So, this round of recruitment we are asking everyone to do online submissions to allow information on applications to go directly to our database,” Mr Beck said.

Mr. Beck also confirmed that the Labor Mobility Unit will be doing provincial visits in this recruitment to receive manual submissions from underrepresented provinces.

“We are encouraging everyone to do it digitally, but we will make a deliberate outreach to underrepresented provinces, in particular Makira, which is scheduled for the 27th of February, Temotu on the 6th of March, Isabel 13th of March and other provinces which are not really represented in the program.”

“What we want is to ensure that the wealth gained from the Labour Mobility Program is spread throughout the country.”

Permanent Secretary Beck also clarifies that there will be no agents in this recruitment process and no application fees are to be paid.

The Ministry will be releasing video demonstrations and information on how and where to submit applications online soon.
