Government Senator’s Nephew Suspected in Fraud Case as Photocopied Cheque Scandal Unfolds

REAL NEWS: A case of fraud – allegedly involving the nephew of a government senator – is being investigated

A source tells REAL News that the manager of the Bridge Service Station on Valley Road telephoned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and reported that a Bolans resident had attempted to obtain money with a photocopied cheque.

It is alleged that the man had presented a copy of an ACB-Caribbean cheque on the account of National Housing Development & Urban Renewal Co. Ltd.

The photocopied instrument was in the amount of $900 and he sought to exchange it for cash.

This offence reportedly occurred on Monday, September 25.

Police officers visited the service station, where the proprietor handed over the young man, along with the cheque.

According to the source, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of fraud and taken to St. John Police Station.
