MoFA – On 28th September 2023, the Honourable Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, was presented with the Letter of Introduction by Her Excellency Ms. Sonya Koppe, High Commissioner of Australia to Antigua and Barbuda, on her first official visit to the country.
During the bilateral exchange, Prime Minister Browne and High Commissioner Koppe discussed ongoing areas of collaboration between both countries, including the ongoing efforts to implement the Multidimensional Vulnerability Index (MVI) and the upcoming 4th International Conference on SIDS, hosted by Antigua and Barbuda.
Additionally, Prime Minister Browne commended the Government of Australia on their integral partnership with CARICOM, and expressed his hope that High Commissioner Koppe utilizes her office to deepen and strengthen the existing relations bilaterally and regionally.
High Commissioner Koppe, in turn, thanked Prime Minister Browne and expressed her desire to further develop the existing warm relations with Antigua and Barbuda.
High Commissioner Koppe also paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable E.P. Chet Greene, where mutual areas of cooperation were discussed.
Minister Greene also conveyed his best wishes to the High Commissioner and thanked the Australian Government for their continued cooperation.
