Dorian Anthony is Arraigned Twice in One Year for Murder

Dorian Anthony

Eighteen-year-old Dorian Anthony recently walked away from a murder charge while he was still legally considered a minor.  That was a few months ago, back in July.  Tonight, he is once again behind bars for murder, after he was arraigned earlier today for the shooting death of forty-two-year-old Trenton Webster, last Thursday night here in Belize City.  Shortly before ten a.m., Anthony was accompanied by officers assigned to the Crimes Investigation Branch when he appeared unrepresented before the lower court where he was charged with a single count of murder.  Anthony, who appeared before a Senior Magistrate, was informed that a plea would not be taken from him since the matter before the court is an indictable offense.  It is alleged that on the night of October nineteenth, 2023, police responded to a shooting on Rasta Street in the vicinity of Neal Pen Road.  Webster was reportedly standing on the street when he was approached by a lone gunman who opened fire on him.  That individual then made good his escape by running in the direction of North Creek.  At seventeen years old, Anthony, along with another minor, was charged in connection with the murder of Emert Flowers, a resident of Racecourse Street who was shot multiple times in front of his home in December 2022.  Anthony has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until December twenty-eighth, 2023.
