Ronlee Petillo will Stand Trial for Rape After Bail is Revoked

Ronlee Petillo, a Belize City resident who is well known to law enforcement, has been committed to stand trial for rape. When he appeared before the Chief Magistrate earlier today, she revoked his bail for sexual assault after noticing that he violated the conditions of his bail for another offense. Back in May, Petillo was offered and met bail for the alleged rape of a young woman and, a few weeks later, he was charged with being a member of a gang. Shortly after being informed that his bail had been revoked, Petillo’s preliminary inquiry for rape commenced before the Chief Magistrate which ended in a paper committal. Petillo is accused of raping a woman on December ninth, 2022 while at a residence on the south side of Belize City.
