One person died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today (August 18, 2022), said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,315 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 170 new coronavirus cases were recorded during this period.
The daily positivity rate is 3.52 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.68 percent.
With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 20,09,604, the release added.
A total of 4,824 samples were tested across the country during this period.
At least 334 Covid-19 patients have recovered within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,52,838 and the recovery rate at 97.18 percent, said the release.
The deceased was a man and aged between 51-60 years old, added the release.
