New Zealand women 7s captain Sarah Hirini despite her team’s loss to hosts Fiji Airways Fijiana 33-12 does not mind returning for more mini sevens series.

As one of the top try scorers in the abbreviated code is looking at to achievement more in the Fiji Airways mini 7s tournament which is underway at the Churchill Park in Lautoka.

“It’s been awesome, it’s the first time our girls travelled together and to come here to Fiji is a pretty special place for us,” Hirini said.

“We come in most and obviously love the rivalry that we have with the Fijiana team. It’s nice to be able to then back up last weekend with a couple a few more games this week and then kind of finish off a preseason period which has lasted a few weeks,” she said.

“I think they are awesome like the Fijian play like no other team on the series that unstructured pretty relentless and what they do.

“I think really nice off the field and on the field. They’re pretty competitive. So, I love playing them. I love having to be challenged by them.

She added that there is no injury in their team at the moment.

In the other matches USA beat Aussie Green 36-7 while France humbled Aussie Gold 28-14.
