Nadi Wants Farebrother and Skipper Cup

“We will give it our best shot this Saturday. We have one or two new faces; we have lost five of our starting XV to overseas contracts the past two weeks.

Despite losing five of its key players the past two weeks Nadi is confident of a good outing at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka on Saturday.

They are challenging the Inkk Farebrother trophy against holders Nadroga.

Nadroga has held on to the trophy after beating Naitasiri 29-10 two weeks ago. They drew 15-all with Suva but kept the trophy as holders.

Head coach Cohan Politini said their preparations have been on track.

“The disadvantage was that there has been four weeks of no rugby, we have managed to fit our warm-up game in,” Politini said.

“We will give it our best shot this Saturday. We have one or two new faces; we have lost five of our starting XV to overseas contracts the past two weeks.

“We have to rely on our development who have been preparing the past seven weeks.

“We’ve always either held the Farebrother or the Skipper Cup. We held the Farebrother every year the past four years so for us this is nothing new.

“We are gunning to take both trophies this year.”

The neighbouring unions locked horns for the trophy in June last year where Nadroga won , 20-19 at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.
