Shahin Dean (inset) said her best local holiday experience was at Fiji Marriot Resort Momi Bay.

Shahin Saziya Dean is a professional hair, make-up, and henna artist in Lautoka.

Born and raised in the Sugar City, Ms Dean loved cosmetics growing up. She would eventually pursue her passion for all things beauty at Essence of Fiji, where she trained to become a beauty therapist.

Ms Dean then developed her artistry further at MAC Cosmetics at Nadi International Airport.

Today, the 28-year-old is not only a beauty therapist with seven years of industry experience, but also the founder of two businesses, Shahin Hair and Makeup and Organic Henna Fiji.

“I’m well known for my henna designs, which have made me a favourite among both local and overseas brides,” she said.

“Through my clients, family support, and social media promotion, Organic Henna Fiji has become recognised internationally.

“I believe quality is far superior to quantity and I strive to ensure client satisfaction.

“I am also dedicated to making every client feel beautiful at the biggest events of their lives through my artistry in make-up, hair, and henna.”

Ms Dean often travels to provide her services to customers.

She said: “It keeps me busy, and the flexibility allows me to ensure I am available for my clients.”

“From early mornings to late evenings, I make sure I arrive with a smile and work with a professional and kind approach.”

The beauty professional is happily married and enjoys cooking, videography, photography, and spending time with her family.

She plans on migrating to Canada in the future and expanding her services in her new home.

Ms Dean spoke with SunBiz about her personal life and journey in the cosmetics industry, as well as her best local destinations for food and travel.
