Turkmenistan and Russia sign 15 documents and are concerned over the use of the Internet for the interference in state affairs

On 10 June the meeting of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhammedov and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin was held in Moscow.

The “one-on-one” talks were held in the format of a working breakfast.

The Declaration on the strengthening of strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan was a major document signed in the course of the negotiations.

Pursuant to the Declaration:

– the Presidents of the two countries will meet on a regular basis;

– the sides will strengthen cooperation in combating the spread of terrorist and extremist ideology and propaganda, money laundering and terrorism funding;

– the sides are concerned over the use of modern information and communication technologies for unlawful and harmful purposes, including the interference in internal state affairs and the disruption of their sovereignty;

– the sides intend to give new impetus to cooperation in agriculture with the view of increasing the volume and expanding the supply of farm produce to the markets of the both countries;

– the sides will actively collaborate in civil aviation to further facilitate the development of air service between the two countries;

– the sides will make join effort in strengthening cooperation in geological prospecting and exploration as well as oil and gas field development, best practices and personnel training for the oil and gas sector.

Apart from the Declaration, the sides also signed 14 documents.
