11-year-old questioned in death of his terminally ill stepdad

Police are questioning an 11-year-old Bronx boy in connection with the death of his terminally ill stepdad, sources said.

Cops believe the boy may have kicked 51-year-old George Szkred, who was diagnosed with stage-four kidney cancer, before the man died Thursday night, the sources said.

Police were called to the family’s apartment inside NYCHA’s Bailey Houses on Heath Avenue when the boy and the step-dad were squabbling.

At some point in the argument, the boy struck the man in the stomach, sources said. He died in an ambulance on the way to St. Barnabas Hospital.

The medical examiner is investigating the cause of death, police said.
