23-year-old man fatally shot in Chicago Heights

A 23-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday night in Chicago Heights.

Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of Andover Street at 11:38 p.m. and found a man in front of 567 Andover with multiple gunshot wounds, Chicago Heights police said in a statement.

The man, identified as Anthony R. Williams, of Chicago Heights, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide.

Chicago Heights police have not released any additional information about the shooting, but ask anyone with information to call the detective division at 708-756-6422.
