A 5-year-old girl and a 26-year-old man who was with her were shot Sunday night in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, according to Chicago police.
Shortly before 6 p.m., the man and young girl were inside a vehicle in the 900 block of West 76th Street when shots rang out, police said. The man was hit in the forearm and back, and the girl was struck in the buttocks area. They went to Holy Cross Hospital, and the man was then taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police. The girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, police said. Both were in good condition.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating, police said.
