Gayle King heads to Broadway show with Oprah Winfrey night before CBS relaunch

Before Monday’s high-pressure relaunch of “CBS This Morning,” its new main anchor Gayle King was spotted blowing off a little steam with best pal Oprah Winfrey at the Temptations musical “Ain’t Too Proud.”

We’re told Winfrey was “jumping around in her seat while Gayle laughed” at the Imperial Theatre.

In fact, the performance was something of a Who’s Who of daytime TV: Regis Philbin and Phil Donahue were also in the audience.

King, who just signed an $11 million deal with CBS, will front the network’s revamped morning show, which has been struggling since the ouster of disgraced anchor Charlie Rose in November 2017.

Backstage, Derrick Baskin — one of the show’s three Tony-nominated stars — joked, “Well, look at this! The Classic Five meets the classic four!”
