‘Hitler was a great Christian’: Pro-cop demonstrators clash with BLM protesters

Pro-cop demonstrators praised Adolf Hitler as a “great Christian man” as they clashed with Black Lives Matter protesters in Nevada, video shows.

The pro-cop demonstration was held outside the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Minden, where a group of counter-protesters also assembled Saturday and chanted “Black lives matter,” the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.

“Hitler was a great Christian man,” one of the pro-cop protesters, who is white, could be heard saying in one clip.

“I agree with you on this one. I lived in Germany. I know exactly what went on,” another police-boosting protester responded, prompting someone off camera to exclaim, “Oh my God.”

In another video, a pro-cop Blue Lives Matter demonstrator was held back by other protesters as he shouted, “We live by the Constitution and you’re telling us to listen to these motherf—ers?”

“They need to listen us. Why don’t they listen to us?” the man, who is also white, continued.

Appearing to take aim at the presence of the Black Lives Matter protesters, he continued, “We heard what they’ve got to say throughout the f—ing world.”

“Now it’s our f—ing turn to say get the f— out of here,” the man said.

The event was held after Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley suggested that the office wouldn’t respond to 911 calls at the local library after it indicated that it supported the Black Lives Matter movement, the newspaper reported.

Coverley backtracked on the threat when he addressed around 400 pro-cop demonstrators at the rally Saturday, the outlet reported.

“For the record, we support the library and we will continue to protect and serve them, and all citizens and visitors to Douglas County,” Coverly said.

“I simply meant that if you don’t trust law enforcement or the sheriff’s office specifically, don’t feel the need to ask for help.”
