Jarring photo shows blood-soaked survivor of New Zealand attack

A new disturbing photo captures the moment a blood-soaked survivor of Friday morning’s New Zealand mosque shooting walked away from the horrific scene.

The unidentified man is seen with blood seeping through the fabric of his light-colored traditional garb and on his arm.

Behind him, an older bearded man appears to call out in anguish as he steps into the street.

Several others are shown gathering in front of the scene that was surrounded with police tape.

Forty-nine people were killed and dozens more injured when at least one shooter stormed into Masjid Al Noor mosque in Christchurch and opened fire on Muslims who were there for Friday prayers. Another shooting happened a short while later at a nearby mosque in the city.

A 28-year-old man — Australian Brenton Tarrant, who allegedly livestreamed his rampage at one of the mosques — will appear in Christchurch District Court Saturday on murder charges, New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush said in a statement.

Two others, who have not been identified, remain in custody, he added.
