LeBron James plans on ‘destroying whoever in front of me’ at NBA restart

LeBron James is ready to reclaim the throne.

As countless players complain about life in the NBA bubble at Disney World, James appears focused on his historic opportunity to lead a third different team to an NBA title, posting on Instagram that he plans to “get back to destroying whoever in front of me. Be aware!”

The Lakers (49-14) held the best record in the Western Conference when the season was suspended on March 11 and are slight favorites in sportsbooks to capture their first championship since 2010. James, who referenced a revenge season in his post, played a career-low 55 games in an injury-plagued first campaign in Los Angeles last year and missed the playoffs for the first time in 14 years, before teaming up with Anthony Davis this season.

James, 35, is in contention to win his fifth regular season MVP, having averaged 25.7 points, a league-high 10.6 assists and 7.9 rebounds, and could become the first player in league history to capture an NBA Finals MVP with three different teams.

The Lakers are scheduled to resume their season against the Clippers on July 30.
