Where's Melania Trump? Bette Midler has a theory why the first lady hasn't been seen in almost a month

Where is Melania Trump? The first lady hasn't been seen in public for 25 days, and speculation is running rampant about the reasoning behind her vanishing act.

The White House announced on Monday that Melania is expected to attend a reception for Gold Star Families on Monday evening at the White House, which would end her nearly month-long absence from the public eye.

Over the weekend, though, legendary singer and actress Bette Midler shared her own unique theory as to where First Lady Melania Trump has been for the past several weeks.

"Melania still hasn’t been seen. 22 days. It seems ominous," she tweeted. "Maybe she just drunk-cut her own bangs and doesn’t want to upset her fans. I’ve done that plenty of times!!!"

Midler's wild theory on Melania's whereabouts, which has garnered nearly 6,000 retwets and 50,000 likes on Twitter, garnered a mixed reaction from the 3,000 people who replied to it.

"WOW! All that God given talent & you're still just a 'mean girl,'" one person wrote. "Truly sad for those of us who used to be big fans."

"She's learning how to be a #FLOTUS from the real one," someone else replied along with a Photoshopped photo of Melania Trump peeking over former First Lady Michelle Obama as they take a written test.

Someone else offered up another theory that "maybe she had some more plastic surgery and the bruises haven’t cleared yet."
