DJ Perf and Denzel Usher Charged with Rape

Devin “DJ Perf” Peyrefitte and Denzel Usher have both been charged for the crime of rape.  The men stand accused of allegedly raping a woman in the wee hours of Monday morning, while at a social gathering at a residence in Belmopan.  The allegation is that the men had sexual intercourse with the woman against her will.  Peyrefitte and Usher were arraigned in the Belmopan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. They were remanded to the Belize Central Prison and are expected to be back in court in October.  The family of one of the accused is denying the allegations.  Today, ACP Joseph Myvett provided details of the case.

“Are willing at this time to share information on the medical examination because one of the families of the accused persons is disputing the results, suggesting that it does show that sex was force upon her?”

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Actually, I would think that that person would need to go to the law as to the definition of rape which is pretty much that is saying that the penetration of another persons’ mouth, vagina, or anus without their consent. It could be to the slightest degree of penetration. So obviously that person would need to refer to the law.”

Reporter

Reporter

“In relation to any eyewitnesses, because this happen in an area where there were several other people. Has the police been able to find people or witnesses that place both of them there.”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“Yes we have.”

The victim is being represented by attorney Audrey Matura who, in a press statement, asserts that there is no confidentiality of her personal business at the Belize Police Department.
