A proposal for the construction of a five storey office building project will be submitted during the Assemblies of God Church Biennal General Conference underway at Laucala.

This was confirmed by the church’s general secretary, Reverend Filikesa Koroivueta, at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday.

He said the project. which had a budget allocation of $8million, had been continuously delayed for some years.

“This has been long overdue, as soon as approval is given, we shall get on with the project,” Pastor Koroivueta said.

A 2019, Fiji Sun report stated the church had proposed a multi-million-dollar project which sought the construction of a 10-storey luxury apartment with an investment of $20million.

The proposed apartment was set for construction at Robertson Rd, in Suva, next to where its head office is located.

This is the same site, which is to hold the new structure.

The project was held back then because of internal bickerings within the church.

Now, the church has decided to reopen the proposal during its 41 Biennal General Conference.

“Our project team will be submitting its presentation on Thursday or Friday, where they will present everything from its costing to all the phases of building the office,” he said.

The building will be an inclusion to its head office at Robertson Rd.

“We are planning to build our new office over the next two years as we look forward to our centennial celebration in 2026 here in Suva,” he said.

The building will be the AoG’s new head office.

“After the celebrations, we will then plan for its extension, that is, for two more floors up,” he said.
