“Obviously there’s been a lot of talk after the England game, but we can’t afford to rely on our past performances for this game,” he said.

“We’re trying to take it one game at a time. Each game in this World Cup is a final for us. If we come out with a win then that’s what we’ve prepared for all week so it wouldn’t be a surprise. But what I do expect is that we put our best forward from the first minute to the 80th minute.”

The Northampton Saints bound back-row said it’s going to be an exciting game.

“I’m pretty sure that the whole squad is really excited for this first game. Come game day, we will bring our best foot forward,” he added.
