RFMF in Finals with French Military

“We will playing according to the referees’ tune despite the fact that sometimes the boys have been hard done by the man with the whistle."

We will do the basics right.

This was the comment of Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) rugby team head coach Ilaitia Tuisese Jnr as they prepare for the World Military Rugby Championship cup final.

The Fiji SUN sponsored RFMF will meet the French Military on Sunday (Fiji time) to defend their title after beating United Kingdom 41-29 in the semi-final.

Tuisese said there was work to do as they hope to secure their third consecutive win.

“We need to fix our set piece (lineouts) and mainly our discipline,” he said.

“Doing the details right and not overdo things.

“We will playing according to the referees’ tune despite the fact that sometimes the boys have been hard done by the man with the whistle.

“I am not complaining, but the rules interpretations are sometimes questionable, but we got to live with that.

“We just have to do our basics right, play to our strength, and apply as much pressure on how the French plays.

“The French men scored 21 points against New Zealand all through the boots of their No.10, so we have to be smart not to give away silly kickable penalties.”

RFMF won the 2015 and 2019 World Military Rugby Championship Cup.
