KHOLE’S ‘MENTAL STATION’ VISUALS DROP ON FRIDAY

MBABANE - Afro-soul artist Khole will drop her latest music video tomorrow.

Mpho Tshabalala is returning to making great music and dropping the music video for her single’ titled ‘Mental Station’. ‘Mental Station’ is track number eight on Khole’s newly-released album ‘For Afro’, which saw the light of day during its launch at the House on Fire a month ago. This publication spoke to the lady who breathed life into the song Khole, who shared what the song was about. “It’s a song about the struggle of depression, self-doubt, and self-judgement and trying to lift one’s self out of it and reaching out for help. It’s about dumping bad habits and picking healthier ones instead.”

Depression

She went on to say; “Before shooting this video, I had just come out of depression, gained a lot of weight, and was feeling so self-conscious. But with the encouragement of friends, colleagues and family, I overcame it and got the job done. I hope that this song can encourage people to reflect and know that they are not alone in their struggles and that there are people who are willing to help. I also hope that the song can inspire people to be kind and normalise being there for each other emotionally,” said Khole.

‘For Afro’ is a captivating collection of songs penned by Khole, offering a unique perspective from a young African Swati girl, born in the modern era. Through her heartfelt melodies, Khole beautifully articulates her dreams, observations and aspirations, both on a personal and social level. Each track is a journey, seamlessly blending lamentations and celebrations, weaving together a tapestry of emotions. The music video will air on Eswatini TV, MTV Base, Channel O and Trace Africa, which are three of the biggest music channels to date.
