MANZINI - A soldier was arrested together with a kombi driver, mechanic and two others, for purportedly kidnapping and assaulting a Zimbabweaman.
Lindiswa Ndzimandze (32) of Gundvwini was arrested together with Siyabonga Vilakati (23) of Madonsa, Siboniso Vilakati (33) of Ngwane Park, Siboniso Shabangu (28) of Mhobodleni and Thokozani Ndzimandze (39) of Gundvwini, and faced one count of kidnapping and another of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The accused persons appeared before Acting Manzini Magistrate Mongezi Mciza.
According to the charge sheet, in count one, the accused persons allegedly intentionally carried away and deprived Clive Mashingaidze, a male adult, of his liberty, by putting him in a light blue kombi registered SSD 277 BH, which they drove away to Ngwane Park Sihlahleni. This was said to have happened on April 29 at or near Bradford College. In count two, the soldier together with Siyabonga, Siboniso and Ndzimandze, are said to have intentionally assaulted the Zimbabwean with sticks and kicks several times all over the body and further with a beer bottle once on the head. This reportedly happened at Ngwane Park, Sihlahleni.
