‘KOKO’ SIGNS 6-MONTH DEAL WITH ‘BULL’

MBABANE – Former Manzini Wanderers winger Njabulo ‘Koko’ Gama has officially penned a short-term contract with Mbabane Highlanders.

The galloping right winger, who once attended trials with South Africa’s Motsepe Championship side Mpumalanga Black Aces, confirmed on Thursday that he met with Inkunz’emnyama Managing Director (MD) Chief Ally Kgomongwe and finalised the deal. “I can confirm that I am now a Mbabane Highlanders player after meeting with the MD at the club house early today (Thursday), where I signed on the dotted line,” the former Ezulwini United player confirmed.

‘Koko’ said after the meeting with Kgomongwe, he was given a six-month contract, as he still has plans of joining ‘Amazayoni’ as Mpumalanga Black Aces are fondly known in football circles in January. “I am happy to have joined such a big club in the country and my main goal is to help them win silverware this season. The reason I signed a short-term contract is due to the fact that Black Aces still want me to join them in January,” he said. Gama was on the verge of joining ‘Amazayoni’ after he impressed during trials ahead of the 2022/23 season, but unfortunately he suffered an injury in the 2022 Bible Society Mayoral Cup finals, which was won by his new team.

Thanked

He also thanked Wanderers for the time he spent with them and said they would always be in his heart as they gave him the break through to elite league football. The maroon and white hub giants Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mduduzi  ‘Mr G’ Ginindza said they met as the managing committee (MC) on the player’s issue and the Governor Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli promised them that Gama accepted their offer. “What I know is that the player will join us soon in training,” Ginindza said. Meanwhile, the black and white capital city giants Public Relations Officer Kenneth Dlamini could not be reached for comment as his phone rang unanswered.
