‘MLILO’ BACK IN LEOPARD’S DEN

MBABANE – Home is where the heart is.

The above adage holds true for Royal Leopard’s industrious midfielder Zweli ‘Mlilo’ Nxumalo, who is reportedly training with the police side in preparation for the new season. The former Umbelebele Jomo Cosmos player was not part of the Edwin Matsebula-led outfit in the past season, which failed to defend the league title, after he was not registered alongside other key players.

The former national team Sihlangu midfielder is reportedly back at training with Ingwe Mabalabala after his stellar performance in the recent Kasi Challenge matches, which were played across the country in the off-season. He appeared for the Msunduza XI alongside the likes of Mbabane Swallows veteran winger Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko and Manzini Wanderers skipper Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule under the stewardship of former Mbabane Highlanders defender Msunduza ‘Mkhulu’ Malambe.

Revealed

A source close to the blue and white police assemble revealed that ‘Mlilo’ was back at training and looking forward to the start of the league together with the likes of defender Machawe ‘Mshanga’ Dlamini and goalkeeper Phephisani Msibi. “I can confirm that ‘Mlilo’ is back training with the team after missing the whole of last season and he is looking sharp like never before,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Leopard Public Relations Officer (PRO) Frank Hurube confirmed that the trio was back with the team. “Yes Mlilo and the other two are back as they were registered even in the past season,” Hurube said. The reigning 2022/23 MTN Premier League PRO of the Season said the players were given a break last season and they would be part of the team in the upcoming season.
