MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows FC and defending champions Nsingizini Hot Spurs FC are the most improved teams as they have reached a great milestone in terms of votes in the MoMo Cup.
The ‘Birds’ have reached the two million votes mark. ‘Insingizi Yezulu’ on the other hand have reached one million votes. Figures released by the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) yesterday showed that the reigning champions had hit 1 135 533 votes to maintain their place in the top six. The security forces teams, on the other hand, are still finding it hard to break into the top six. Young Buffaloes has been sitting on position 13 for the past two days. Green Mamba FC and Royal Leopard FC have been sitting comfortably on position 16 and 18, respectively for the past two days. Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows is currently leading the voting charts with 2 986 276 votes. They are followed by Lozitha Spurs FC on 2 609 921 and Mbabane Swallows with 2 073558. Mbabane Highlanders have 1 946 748 votes on the fourth spot. They are followed by Manzini Wanderers with 1 872 113 votes.

The 28 teams so far have raked in at least 16 973 526 votes in total. Fans are expected to continue voting for their favourite teams through using the MoMo platform *7000# and follow the prompts. The more you use the MoMo platform, the more points an individual accumulates. The six best teams will be involved in the tournament. MTN FinTech Chief Executive Officer Sam Shongwe announced a E2 million sponsorship for this year’s edition of the MoMo Cup.
