Minister for APEC Justin Tkatchenko has described the hosting of more than 10,000 delegates, guests and media from 21 economies in the APEC as a successful event.
He also told his critics to hang their heads in shame for their lack of support and discriminatory remarks against the APEC Authority, the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and the ministry he was given. “When I took this job, it was a huge task, it was the biggest job I had to handle and was bigger than any other event I took care off. I had the support of the Prime Minister, all the 200 plus PNG workers, my colleague ministers, the national government and the people of PNG. Myself, the PM and Chris Hawkins were personally attacked, ridiculed by self-centered immature wannabes who had nothing to give to this country’s efforts and for their own personal gain,” he said.
“This government has proven to their critics that they can deliver any event this country wants to host, we did it for the Pacific Games, the World Cup and the U20 FIFA World Cup.
“I have personally had conversations with all leaders who I welcomed and farewelled who have praised our efforts.”
