THE mid- wives society of PNG has commended member for Moresby South Justin Tkatchenko for initiative taken to build a new district hospital for the Moresby South electorate.
Society president Jennifer Pyakaliya told the Post -Courier that they are happy and like to thanked Justin Tkatchenko for prioritising health development in his electorate because it’s one of the most impacted areas in the communities that needs attention to address many health issues in the country.
Ms Pyakaliya said it’s good the minister has had taken the step forward to be one of the district in the country to implement the health policy and build a district hospital to serve the people of Moresby South.
“We are happy to have witnessed a mile stone development in his electorate and will partner with them to deliver the much needed maternity care services to the people of Moresby South and National Capital District,” she said.
“It’s good that the minister has outlined the importance of maternity care which is one of the major issues we are facing in the country. We will be partnering with the hospital to effectively deliver the maternity care services to our women and girls.”
” But, to effectively deliver there must be proper planning.
“And that is to have more mid-wives joining the work force and all districts have to play their part in training one mid-wife every year so that we get enough man power to support our work in the community.”
