Major savings and loans society launches debit card

Nasfund Contributors Savings and Loans society today launched its debit card to be used by members.

It’s called the Poro Card and is similar to any other debit card.

Chairman of NCSL, Ian Tarutia when launching the card, said that NCSL is the first financial institution outside of the major commercial banks to an issuer as well as an acquirer of debit card transactions.

He said that the card will work in the same way as other debit cards except that they have our own EFTPOS terminals.

The company has installed over 132 out of 200 terminals in 29 outlets in 4 regions for the benefit of our members.

Tarutia said, they anticipate the Poro Debit Card to be allowed access on other EFTPOS terminals and ATMS by the end of the year to be more convenient for members.

Members can be able to use their NCSL poro card similar to that of BSP or ANZ bank cards but with less account keeping and transaction fees.
