PJV gives K150,000 to stage Enga show 2019

Pogera Joint Venture has supported the Enga Culture Show Committee with K150,000 toward hosting next year’s event.
PJV’s executive managing director Tony Esplin made the announcement through presentation of a dummy cheque to Enga Show Committee Chairlady Margaret Potane during the 2018 Enga Culture Show in Wabag on August 11.
Mr Esplin was keynote speaker at the event, his first attendance since taking up the role as EMD to the PJV operation in April 2018.
“We believe that communities that embrace and share their cultural heritage are more resilient and successful, more accepting and most importantly, more cohesive,” Mr Esplin said.
He spoke at Wabag’s Aipus oval before an audience that included the Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas, provincial administrator Dr Samson Amean, Australian High Commissioner Bruce Davis, and a host of other VIPs and show sponsors including a crowd audience of more than 45 singsing groups and hundreds of show-goers.
PJV was the gold sponsor for this year’s event and was the exclusive sponsor of the traditional singsing groups that participated.
Mr Esplin said PJV has had a long history of supporting the event just as the people of Enga have had a long history of supporting the PJV operation.
“PJV’s sponsorship of the Enga Cultural Show is a reflection of our belief in these principals. Mutual respect between people from different cultures plays a key role in ensuring our workforce retains its diversity and vibrancy.
“This respect for all of our different backgrounds and cultural differences allows us to do our work best and reach our potential.
“We look forward to continuing our long relationship with the people of Enga and we are very proud to be part of this event,” Mr Esplin said.
