Police Commissioner’s workshop gets underway in Port Moresby today and will conclude on Friday.

Provincial Police Commanders from across the country are meeting at the Hideaway Hotel.

Police Commissioner Gari Baki opened the 2019 Commissioner’s Workshop and in his remarks said the discussions would determine the way the PNG Constabulary carries itself into 2020.

Discussions over the three day workshop will be about the four police commands of Southern, Northern, Highlands and Islands.

There will also be discussions surrounding its operations division, human resources, crimes division, the legal directorate and an update on the review of the organisation’s structure.

Mr Baki said that the recent discussions from the 2018 Commissioner’s workshop will also be brought into this three day workshop.

He added that the discussions for today and for the next two days will set foundations to formulate a budget plan for 2020.
