El papa Francisco afirmó que mantiene por ahora su histórica visita a Irak, que comenzará dentro de dos días, pese a la violencia que castiga al país, escenario de un nuevo ataque con cohetes el miércoles contra una base militar que alberga tropas estadounidenses.

“Pasado mañana, Dios mediante, iré a Irak para una peregrinación de tres días. Hace mucho tiempo que quiero encontrarme con ese pueblo que ha sufrido tanto”, dijo Francisco, de 84 años, durante su audiencia semanal. AFP
